Well, Prince William and Kate Middleton have announced their engagement today for a spring 2011 wedding. If you can’t wait till then to see gorgeous wedding photos, a beautiful bride, a handsome groom, lovely flowers, and a 5 tier cake decorated with cabbage leaves – then, all you lovely readers are in luck and can do no better than to take a butchers at the most recent I have shot.
The bride and groom first met at a conference in the States. Their romance would not have blossomed if it had not been been for their mutual friend (and now bridesmaid!) mistakenly giving him the bride’s number. The bride had told the groom that he was welcome to get her number in the UK from their friend, but she hoped their friend would say no! Their friend thought the bride really wanted to give him her number so wrote it down for him!
And the rest they say is history!
The bride’s desire was to have a UK wedding, incorporating her London and Zimbabwean roots. The bride entered to a traditional Zimbabwean greeting of clapping, chanting and petal throwing to exchange wedding vows before the couple exited to shoot their formal photographs in Southwark Park. The damp October weather did not faze the bride and groom in the slightest!
Then it was back to the reception – to enjoy a delicious menu of Southern fried chicken and rice followed by the quintessential English dessert – apple pie and custard. After the wedding breakfast, emotional and heartfelt speeches which not only joyfully celebrated the wedding and marriage but also acknowledged that it was also the last time the bride would see her friends and family for a while, as the couple would be emigrating to the States shortly after the wedding.
