Last time, we spoke about the cost of wedding photography. This post we will talk about how to get the best wedding photography for your £.

Here are a few things that may help you with your wedding photography budget.
  • After realistically examining your budget, it might be that  your budget will not stretch to hiring a professional wedding photographer for a full day’s wedding photography – commission a professional wedding photographer for the major portion of your day – from the start of the wedding ceremony to the sitting down of the wedding breakfast/speeches
  • Ask friends and family to contribute to a wedding photography pot, so they can help spread the cost
  • If you are getting married out of season in the winter, or during the week (Monday-Thursday) not only may you be able to get a discount on your wedding venue, your wedding photographer may also have a special deal for winter wedding photography packages
  • Book early before the best photographers get booked up
  • Don’t let the £ be the only factor in deciding on a wedding photographer. Meet with the wedding photographer so you can see their wedding albums in person, and get a feel for their personality, to see if they will be a good match for your wedding day
  • Make sure the photography is their own work, so that you can buy once and buy right. If the price seems too good to be true it most certainly is. Check out their work. Is it consistent? Alarm bells should ring if they are a UK wedding photographer but showing a lot of outdoor weddings. (Weddings in England and Wales  are legal under permanent structures like gazebos, Scotland weddings can be anywhere as long as a minister is present).
  • Get the best photography you can for your £. You can add albums later but you cannot add more photography after the wedding day.
