It is a great honour to capture a bride and groom’s wedding and create lasting memories for them and for their future generations. So indeed it was a double honour to be chosen to be the official London wedding photographer for this particular bride and groom. I knew that they would be discerning clients – after all they are my family!
The wedding was truly a relaxed family affair with most stuff done in-house – the wedding cake, makeup, hair and photography (wink!)
The bride got ready at her mother’s home, surrounded by her bridesmaids. After grabbing a quick breakfast (fried egg sandwiches – a must for a Saturday breakfast!), and final adjustments to her hair and makeup, the bride exited wearing a tea length ivory gown for the short drive to St Clement with St Peter in Dulwich. The groom and his groomsmen wore matching navy morning suits. The bride entered to the strains of Brian McKnight ‘The Love of my Love’, whilst the groom waited anxiously at the altar for his bride.
The short ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Poppy Hughes. Once the register was signed, the bride and groom held a short Pimms reception outside the church in the glorious sunshine. A double-decker bus came to collect the guests to drive them to The Bermondsey Square hotel where canapés awaited them. Instead of giving a speech, the bride sang to her new husband, accompanied by her young niece on guitar. After emotional and heartfelt speeches from family and friends, the bride and groom danced the night away.
Please leave the bride and groom your best wishes in the comments box below!
