5 Photography Tips from a Spider
[WARNING – photograph of a spider follows…. close your eyes and scroll down if you don’t like spiders.]
What a spider taught me about photography.
It is not often I wax lyrical on the blog…
Down the back of the garden, I saw this – a spider’s web spun from a 6 foot tree and anchored to a weed maybe a foot off the ground. What impressed me more than anything was how the spider conceived to abseil out of the tree and latch onto the weed waving in the wind.
So here are the tips from a spider:
Push the envelope – step out and be creative
Be ready to take the opportunity – the weed will not be there for ever
Hit the target – be focused on what you want to achieve
See beyond – use what is there to make something that is impressive. A chef can use the same food ingredients we do, but in the hands of a chef it becomes extraordinary.
So how does this story end? Well, after I cut down the weed (I did hesitate in cutting down the weed for about 20 minutes), the spider’s web was rebuilt within 24 hours, this time to the back of the fence.
