The guests arrived in taxis, for the wedding ceremony at Dulwich College in the Old Library, dashing in before the splitting rain drops caught them. The droplets of rain did ease off allowing guests to catch up with old friends outside.
The groom waited nervously at the top of aisle for the arrival of the bride. The bride wore a long white dress with pockets. The bridesmaids entered first, each wearing a dress of their choice in varieties of blue. The bride followed with her father. Hand tied flowers decorated the aisle with old keys and a picture of a doggy.
The bride and groom exchanged vows and the rings given to them by one of the best men.
After the ceremony, it was a quick coach ride over to One Friendly Place in Deptford where canapés of raw sea bass, pate and champagne were served to the guests. The roasted carrot crudités caused much hilarity as they had been roasted with their tops on and made an impromptu prop as a veggie mustache for photos! Before dinner was announced, guests were serenaded with music and songs from the couple’s friends. Guests also had time to explore the venue and play a game of giant Jenga, take an instant photo on the bed and relax on the roof.
The old key theme continued downstairs, on the name tags. Vintage plates, tea cups and gold cutlery lined the tables where the wedding breakfast would be served. The guests were served starters, fish, roasted pork and potatoes and tiramisu for desserts with speeches following. After dinner the couple went downstairs for their first dance and for cutting their naked wedding cake.
Here are some of my favourite images from the day – enjoy!
