First of all, a big thanks to the Bijou Bride who introduced me to the couple.
The bride and groom wanted a relaxed wedding day with all their friends. Their brief to me was that they didn’t want formals. They just wanted a wedding photographer to capture their friends having fun, so I was happy to oblige! My day started at Victoria Stakes in North London, which is the bride and groom’s local, capturing the reception styling by the Bijou Bride and reception flowers by the Urban Flower Company.
The bride and groom arrived at St James’ Church and walked down the aisle together along with their twins. The bride’s beautiful wedding dress was designed by Faith Caton Barber. After the ceremony, the guests took a taxi back down the hill to Victoria Stakes. Upon arrival, they were greeted by the staff from Victoria Stakes offering drinks. The drinks reception was treated to live music by TJ Weekes.
The children were kept entertained by Balloonatic, who created wonderful balloon creatures and sculptures. I have never seen children have some much fun. They coloured, blew bubbles and had their faces painted. During the speeches, the children escaped the room where the wedding breakfast was being served to eat ice-cream sundaes, make sock puppets and take part in musical chairs and balloon limbo!
After the wedding breakfast of hake and courgette terrine, confit shoulder of lamb, and strawberry panna cotta, both best men gave speeches after the groom. Then the guests joined the arriving evening guests downstairs for a prohibition themed drinks reception, featuring a live three piece blues band. The bride and groom cut their naked wedding cake which was made by French Made .
