The bride, her bridesmaids and family got ready at the Town Hall Hotel. After which it was a short taxi ride down the road to the art deco Hackney Town Hall. Accidentally, the taxi driver had picked up the wrong bride from the hotel, but quickly dropped us off outside Hackney Town Hall. Hope the other bride she was meant to pick up got to her wedding in time!
The bride walked down the aisle with her father to an anxious waiting groom. Her old university friends played on violin. After a couple of readings, and exchanging rings, the couple ran the confetti throwing gauntlet!
The wedding breakfast was served by caterers Deelishus – fillet of beef or coconut and coriander halibut, roast new potatoes and slaw salad. After the guests had started on the sticky toffee pudding, the speeches began with the father of the bride, followed by the groom and then the groom’s older brothers.
During the cocktail hour the guests drank mojitos and cosmos served by UK Mobile Bars and were entertained by the 1940s styled vinyl playing DJ (Mr Dennis Teeth) – very fitting with the art deco style of the building. As a sweet treat, they were also served tasty meringues from The Meringue Girls including a multi coloured unicorn poo meringue! (It was delicious I promise!)
The couple had their first dance, before inviting the rest of their guests to cut some shapes on the dance floor. Music was provided by the band Ruby and the Rhythms and lighting by LX Tricks.
